Annadanam took place on 25-10-2009. Approximately around 100 people, mostly children were served lunch after the regular Prayer, Bhajans and Educational activities. But there was also a special event that took place without any preplanning. This was truly a Divine experience for the 21 older children and for me and Lalitha ji as well.
The 50 children were slowly settling , when pavithra, one of the leaders of the group brought in a girl, dressed in the traditional pavadai, wearing jumki, bindi, kumkum and came into the group and Lalitha ji said “Bala?”.
We completed with the session (Bhajans, Rhymes….) for the small, cute children and we sent them for lunch. There were 21 senior children. There wasn’t any plan of Divya Chetana Diksha and we had only talked about it with Sriji that we would do during Gurudev’s visit to Bangalore. Even then, we just thought we can take them through the process of Divya Chetana, the steps, so that it would be easy during the initiation, later. As we sat under the tree, behind the temple, we took the children through the steps, which was done in a simple and understandable manner, the children were listening very attentively. Invoking the blessings of the Almighty, the lineage, Baba and Mahababa, the children started the procedure. I was truly amazed at the way the children were sitting so involved, erect and sincerely following the steps as per the instructions.
“When they started and we prayed to Baba and Mahababa, the pyramid enclosing all the kids and image of Gurudev appeared at the centre and then the procedure of the diksha happened and the energy movement was extremely good. When I opened my eyes, I saw that most of the children were engrossed and deep except for 3 who opened their eyes early. After half an hour the children were asked to come out and the surprising part for both of us, sharmila ji and myself, was that every child got to experience something, they expressed beautifully and in fact could exactly pinpoint the vibrations in the different areas using the terminology “vibration” and the girl who came in as ‘Bala’ was so deep into this and was swaying from the beginning to the end. We are indeed a blessed lot to be a witness to such sessions. Sashtang pranams to gurudev, Mahababa and Baal”.
